We’ve created a list of events and projects that you can get involved in globally. Play your part in reducing your plastic waste in 2021 and get recycling. In addition, there are some key expos for those that are in one of the worlds global recycling businesses.

2021 Events
- Earth Day 2021 – 22nd April 2021 – Global. The Theme for 2021 is ‘Restore Our Earth’ – looking at natural system processes and emerging green technologies to restore the world’s ecosystems and forests, conserve and rebuild soils, improve farming practices, restore wildlife populations and rid the world’s oceans of plastics.
- World Environment Day – 5th June 2021. The official event of the United Nations. Full details and theme yet to be announced.
- Plastic Free Beauty Day – 17th June 2021. A UK awareness day created by ‘We Are Paradoxx‘ who will take to the street’s of London educating consumers on the issues around the misconceptions around recycled plastics. They will also be collecting beauty waste and packaging throughout the day to promote and showcase how brands, retailers and consumers alike can make small changes to make a big difference. How they can make informed choices to opt for more sustainable materials, such as aluminium that can be recycled on an infinite loop
- Plastic Free July 2021 – Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution. An interactive map on the website enabled you to find events happening near you.
- Recycle Week 2021 – 21st – 26th September 2021 – UK. Now in its 18th year, Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling, organised by WRAP under the Recycle Now brand. The aim of the week is to encourage the public to recycle more, by demonstrating the benefits of recycling items from all around the home. This year’s theme will be ‘Recycling. We do. Because it matters.’
Recycling Expos 2021
- Recycling Technik – 17th-18th March 2021. An international event, hosted in Germany. National and international exhibitors present technologies and solutions for the reprocessing and environmentally friendly disposal of waste products.
- Plastics Recycling World Expo – 1st – 2nd June 2021 – International event, hosted in Germany. Expo for professionals from across the plastics recycling industry. Two days of networking, knowledge-sharing and innovation.
